Mortimer B. Birdseye

Mortimer B. Birdseye enlisted September 3, 1862 at the age of 21
as a 1st Sergeant. He was promoted to Sergeant Major of the
regiment on April 1, 1863. He was discharged to accept commission as 1st
Lieutenant of the 2nd New York (Harris) Calvary, January 12, 1864,
and was afterwards promoted to Captain, Major, and Lieutenant Colonel of the
same regiment.
After the war he was a contractor and lived in Fayetteville, New
York. |
