George K. Collins
1st Lieutenant, Company I

1st Lieutenant, was mustered into service at Syracuse, N.Y., September 18, 1862, as 1st Lieutenant of Company I, at the age of 25, under a commission dated October 4, 1862, rank September 12, 1862.

Lieutenant Collins was wounded in the right arm at Chancellorsville, VA., May 3, 1863 and in the right foot at Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, November 24, 1863.  The latter wound disabling him for further service, his resignation was tendered from Nashville Hospital, accompanied by surgeon's certificate of disability, and was accepted April 24, 1864.

This officer participated in all the battles, skermishes and principal marches of the regiment except Ringgold, up to the time of his discharge, and was brevetted Captain for meritorious services.

He served as Commander of Post Root 151 GAR and as President of Central NY Microscopical Club, and was a member of the National Microscopical Society and Treasurer of the Royal Arcanum for the State of NY, and was a praticing attorney at law at Syracuse, NY.
