At the age of 25, Soloman Light mustered into the service as Captain of
Company A at Syracuse, New York, on September 18, 1862, under a commission
dated October 4, 1862, rank August 20, 1862.
He resigned the commission at Acquia Creek Landing, Virginia, January 17,
1863.
He died at Syracuse, New York, October 2, 1874, after being a total invalid
with a paralyzed spine. He is buried at Rose Hill, Syracuse, New York.
