After the war, the GAR, regimental associations, and the states erected monuments to remember their participation in battles, to honor their leaders and their fallen comrades, and to celebrate the peace that their actions brought about.

These monuments are spread throughout the country. They are on battle fields, in cemeteries, and in town squares.  There are far too many to show each of them here, but these are some of the ones that honor the 149th and their leaders.
